ahhh… it’s a cover album. that explains why these track names all look familiar…

★ boku no suki na sensei: based taste, interesting approach to the cover. it feels a bit melodramatic, no?
be my baby: oh, the lyrics are translated? or are new ones pasted over? docchi is fine,1 but this is honestly, honestly giving me Weezer cover feelings.

★★ video killed the radio star. although… i think it took a severe hit in the lyrics department. like, i’d consider the original’s lyric sheet to be pretty dense. it feels bad to me in a way that be my baby perhaps doesn’t, but maybe that’s because i don’t consider be my baby to be a lyrical standout – everything it says can be accessed through another set of sentiments.

docchi is, actually, not fine. the album came with printed lyrics and this one really reduces the lyrical complexity to a set of i-love-yous… not that there was much to begin with, but this is like kindergarten-level! the sort of things you’d say to a literal baby to make the baby feel loved! and my aoa just doesn’t go that low! ↩
