★★

i was gonna put rocket on the wishlist, but apparently this song sounds completely different from the rest of the album (generic alt rock) and the rest of the album sucks.

it also helps that i’ve listened to this song three times by now and still am shaken up

(edit: five times)
it might legit be purity route good

“and if i die before i learn to speak / can money pay for all the days i lived awake but half asleep?” holy shit that hurt me. that’s legit beautiful.

this whole verse 3 is good
a lot of this is great!
this might have the best lyrics i’ve heard to date!

can’t find the other two on the single (mona lisa, feel me)

minds well bump this after eight or so listens

because the existence of this thing raises the question of how such a great song could’ve popped out of such a shitty band.

(actually rocket was never meant to be released, though it also raises the question of why he did)

and really i feel like you can see that this was an accident all the way through. verse 3 is goddamn pretty but none the individual lines hold together! he’s saying a lot, but he’s also saying not a single thing.

and really the part where he sings the sample should’ve tipped you off
or the fumbling of the back half of the piano
