wow, be yourself is making a lot out of a pretty skeletal groove. but perhaps i wouldn’t mind it as much if i were in a dancehall or party or other social event that people cooler than me go to.

★ charmed reminds me of that moment in the sonic 06 fandub where the opening band is playing a marching band version of in his world or something like that. and i appreciate marching band-core, even if i don’t actually like the sound, and even if thinking about marching bands make me feel a sense of resentment for reasons that were out of my control.
(i assume that basically every subculture in high school was fucking like rabbits and meanwhile i was where i was, homeschooled, going to a youth group that beat into its charges at every possible opportunity that being horny is a sin, and spending my free time writing video games that would never get finished or shared)
★ back to love
★ scat n’ shout, if for the cheap mono 909y snare that makes a special appearance.

truthfully, i didn’t care much back then. i wanted love (as i imagined it), though i wanted it my way and according to my story. i don’t know if i would’ve been especially interested in feeling a lightning bolt that passes way too quickly and leaves me with child support payments. it’s only now that i wish i had this, but why? at this point, couldn’t i just fabricate the memory and be satisfied with that? it would only be a memory now either way…

  • ███, in her bedroom, while her parents were away
  • ████, in that nook behind the flc where we keep the dividers, as quietly as possible
  • that one girl with the braces who drove the truck whose name i’ve forgotten by now, though was she even into me? anyway, in the bed of that truck, because we’re in redneck country, and rednecks make do.
